Description
Cape reed is used on the inside of your thatched roof which then acts as a ceiling layer. This greatly contributes to the atmosphere and aesthetics of your lapa, as it hides away all unpleasant strands of grass, and gives you that finished touch.Cape reed is only found in the Albertinia region and with delivery charges added it is a little more expensive than grass. Cape reed is not a necessity in your roof, and a thatched roof can be built without it. Both Cape reed and grass are extremely seasonal and we recommend that you keep this in mind before starting your lapa.
